About me

I'm a machine learning engineer at Meta, working on AI and ML systems for ads ranking — helping small businesses reach the right people. Before that, I was Head of AI at Niural, where I built a vertical HR and payroll intelligence system from the ground up.

I'm a full-stack engineer across the data stack — data science, data engineering, backend, and ML — with a focus on end-to-end product building. I care about making data-driven decisions and building systems that automate the right things. I studied Statistics at Columbia University.

I was born and raised in China, moved to the US for school, and have been here ever since. I write in both English and Chinese — mostly English here, but some posts sneak out in Mandarin.

This blog

I started writing here as a way to think more clearly. The act of writing forces me to take fuzzy half-formed ideas and make them concrete.

Topics drift, but they usually fall into a few buckets: technology and software engineering, AI and its implications, productivity and how I work, and essays on life, decisions, and what matters.

There's no schedule. I write when something feels worth saying. If you want to be notified, subscribe via RSS or follow me on Twitter.
